Thanks for your thoughts, Musketier! I agree, the Peninsula is probably the place to start. It looks like a lot of our 1812 bodies and heads would work well for Spanish troops. Then some basic French line infantry versus the many "specialty" French units that other 54mm manufacturers are doing in plastic of late. Hmm….

All the King's Men is pleased to announce the release of our brand-new War of 1812 cavalry, all in glorious 54mm.

19th Light Dragoons

There are two types currently available, British 19th Light Dragoons and U.S. Dragoons. They come eight riders, eight horses and eight bases to a set, all of the same troop type. Each set is $45 USD plus shipping.

Sets are ostensibly for use with the All the King's Men wargame rules, but any rules or display shelf will do!

Riders and bases are metal, while the horses are plastic to make the figures lightweight. Weapon arms include sword at rest (seven), sword outstretched (one for an officer) and bugle (one). Arms and heads are separate to allow you to customize their positions. Figures come unpainted.

We're pretty certain this is the first time 1812 U.S. Dragoons have ever been done in this scale, at least for wargame use.

US Dragoons

We're even running a special! Order two or more sets of these cavalry, and get a single War of 1812 mounted general of your choice, American or English, for free! This offer will be available until February 14, 2010.

If you're interested, these figures' heads and arms are also available as separate sets for $3 USD.

Please let us know what you think! And keep an ear to the ground, because this is just the first of a wave of new 1812 cavalry sets coming from us.
