The Paris golf & cc was great. 18 holes in the morning, gaming in the afternoon. Of course, it helped that I lived only 5 minutes away at the time. No golf at the new venue I'm afraid. But there is a full-service bar!

Council Fires is a new one-day autumn wargaming convention in Southern Ontario, building on the fond memories of Council Fires past. It's been over ten years since the last Council Fires in southern Ontario, but rising as a Phoenix is the latest incarnation. Our aim is to bring to the wargamer an enjoyable convention experience with aesthetically pleasing games, a friendly and convivial atmosphere, and an opportunity to ogle the latest vendors' wares.

Council Fires 2011 will take place on October 1st at the Cambridge Newfoundland Club in the bustling metropolis of Cambridge, Ontario (that's the Great White North, for our American cousins).

Packed into one day of gaming will be vendors, tournaments, and four gaming sessions. Check out the website for details! Or you can follow our blog - councilfires.blogspot.com - and see us on Facebook.
