Here's a peek at our upcoming expansion of our 8-11th Century Islamic line, which has been Eastern Islamic to date but will be adding Western Islamic (Arab/Bedouin) forces soon.
This is a Bedouin/Arab unarmoured horseman, 8-11th C., the dreaded "Arabitai":
There are two horse poses and three rider poses. Riders are holding the spear two-handed! (Shield is slung on right arm.)
Also made will be armoured riders, a general in a magnificent turban, infantry with:
Swords
Spears
Javelins
Slings
Bows (of course)
and finally, returning to the east, some Khurasanians looking a bit more Persian than the generic nobles/ghliman we currently make (and they will be one piece!).
We think these will be useful for late Umayyad, Abbassid, Dynastic Bedouin, and similar armies up until Western influence from the attacking crusaders began to affect dress and equipment of Western Muslim armies. A bit too late for Conquest armies, I think, though some know-wots out there might disagree!
Would you chaps like the Arab heavy cavalry to look purely Arab, or would you like them to have some Eastern influence in their armour and equipment, as became increasingly common after the Conquest was complete? Let me have feedback quickly, as they are next on the sculpting table!
