As you may already be aware, my health has been poor this year, and Sarah and I made the decision to put Figures in Comfort Ltd up for sale. I am pleased to say the sale has been agreed, and I am happy to introduce Erik Priessman as the face of Figures in Comfort from the 8th November 2009 (please see his statement below).
There are still some outstanding orders which are being finalized, and are my responsibility to sort before I leave the U.K. at the end of December. Please rest assured that these will be sorted before I leave. If you have any questions about outstanding orders, please email sales@figuresincomfort.net and I will deal with these. Please note these are my responsibility and not Erik's.
Sarah and I would like to thank all our customers over the past eight years for their support and valued custom. It has been fun, and we have made loads of new friends. I know the past few months have been very traumatic for me due to my ongoing health problems, and I know these have had a knock-on effect on FiCL - and for those who have been affected, I am sorry and I will resolve these issues to your approval.
As Sarah and I move on to Australia, I wish Erik and his family all the best for the future, and know that they will do a great job and keep the company moving in the right direction.
Once again, thanks for a fun eight years!
Statement from Erik Priessman new owner of Figures In Comfort Ltd:
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce my wife and I as the new owners of Figures In Comfort Ltd.
Being a long-standing and satisfied customer of Jules, I felt this was a fantastic proposition for a business venture. As an established business in a hobby that I have been part of for many years, it allows me to operate in an area that my interests lie in. 'Manna from heaven' some may call it.
Many wargamers in Scotland will already know me as a member of the RAF Leuchars club, and we look forward to meeting many more, like minded, enthusiasts at shows around the country.
Figures In Comfort will continue to provide the same high quality product that this company has become known for, as well as always seeking to improve the range of products available for the hobby in general. As we are confident in the quality of our product, we will still offer the current 5 year guarantee on the cases we supply.
We will also strive to provide good customer service, as we feel this is essential to becoming successful as a company. To this end, we would ask existing and new customers to be patient with us in the immediate future, as we establish new premises and stock levels in order to meet client requirements. We anticipate that a small interruption of business may occur during this transition period. Once this period is over, orders and enquiries will be taken via the existing website and email addresses. A new business address and contact phone number will be displayed via the website in the very near future.
Due to the fact that competition in the area of figure sales is very high, and there are plenty of other retailers that offer a better service, Figures in Comfort Ltd will no longer be retailing figures in the future. Rather, we will concentrate in the foam trays, cases, varnishes, Army Painter range and Litko bases and templates markets.
Without breaking any confidentialities within the contract signed between the new and previous owners of the company, we can make the following statement.
Any outstanding orders or refunds still to be resolved prior to 8th November 2009, will remain the responsibility of Julian Evans, and all correspondence regarding such items should be addressed directly to him. The new owners will have no responsibility in completing requests, orders or agreed refunds prior to this date. After this date, the new owners will have sole responsibility in fulfilling new orders and requests.
Finally, we would like to thank Julian and Sarah Evans for their help in making this possible and we appreciate all the hard work they have shown in the past by developing the company to its current position in the hobby.
We would like to wish them both all of the best in their imminent move to Australia and hope that the move proves beneficial to Jules's long-term health prospects.
