Bob the Temple Builder writes:

I have finally made contact with Mark Wheeler (I had been using the wrong email address!) and he has very kindly agreed to change the tile of his organisation in order to avoid any possible confusion.

In a hobby where fostering good relationships between various individuals and organisations is vitally important, it was pleasant to discuss this situation in such a civilised way, and to resolve it so quickly and decisively. I for one hope that MWD will grow and prosper, and it will certainly be getting my support.

Model Wargames Developments writes:

A new modern period (1900 onwards) wargaming group is now forming.

M60s from the TMP collection

Based in the U.K. but worldwide in appeal and outlook, it is called 'Model Wargames Developments' (MWD) and it will attempt to occupy the space left by the recently folded Journal of the SOTCW (MWD founder Mark Wheeler was also one of the original SOTCW founders).

It will initially comprise of two PDF-distributed publications – a frequent newsletter called The Runner, containing news, reviews, letters and special offers; and a less regular but more extensive magazine, called The Range Finder, that will include rules, scenarios and historical summaries. More than this, The Range Finder will use the knowledge of its growing membership base to provide in-depth information on availability of the miniatures and scenics, paints and decals required to support each main article. Both will also be available in printed postal format.

There is no formal subscription proposed, but rather a flat £10.00 GBP membership fee covering the two years starting June 1st, 2019. There is no online presence yet, so if you are interested, please contact Mark at sotcwmarkw@hotmail.com or write to Autumn Lodge, Sorrell Green, Wyverstone, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 4TS.
