Very nice. I was tempted to get some of the original range before and now they bring out more!

One question though: As they're both aquatic races, how do they keep their powder dry?

All new feisty frogs, plus terrifying turtles and terrapins auxiliaries (sometimes the enemies of the frogs) have been added to our Warrior Frogs range, by Kosta Heristanidis.

28mm Warrior Frogs

With these new releases, frog fans can now form specialist units like the infamous Mallet Squads (just the thing for dealing with the shells of those turtles and terrapins when they get rebellious). You can also create the effect of serried massed ranks of frogs, drawn up in line of battle, or marching up from the lily pond in long winding columns by using our new standing at the ready or marching frog poses. For a more aggressive look, codes 100FRG10 and 11 will provide the front ranks of your frog pike blocks with a suitable 'hedge-hog' of pikes appearance. And at the centre of this host, surveying his slimy minions, we have the majestic Frog King, resplendent and imperious on his litter.

The turtle and terrapin auxiliaries come equipped with bow, musket, and spear, and include a specialist sniper team to lurk in the bulrushes. There is also a drumming team and other turtle/terrapin command figures to complete the picture.

As some of you may remember from the launch of this range, the pictures that originally inspired Kosta to make these miniatures were the work of 19th Century Japanese artist Kawanabe Kyosai. Kyosai was a traditional Japanese artist, but he was not above occasional divergences into more unusual and even mischievous subjects. In an apparent attempt to satirise (and even shock) contemporary Japanese society, he painted pictures depicting rival samurai clans as frogs, turtles and other anthropomorphic creatures, locked in traditional samurai battle scenes.
