Didn't somebody at the San Francisco Chronicle used to write about pensymps (Penguin Sympathisers)? I believe he felt they were a threat to US security.

And so it was that the penguins gained sentience one fine crisp morning, and by late afternoon of that same day, they had split into factions - the Kingfishers and the Penguinmentarians having differences that were simply irreconcilable without resort to the icicle and the snowballe.

Penguins

Formed at the center of the great Regiments of Flippere, the doughty icicle birds defend the two sleeves of snowballes from the depredations of the dreaded Regiments of Seale, whose carefree cavaliere riders seek to careen into their ranks, bowling the birds over. (Careen being a relative term, of course.)

Penguins

To a bird separated from his regimente in the heat of battaile, it is a comfort indeed to locate the proud banner of his regimente - a squid impaled on an icicle.

Leading these armies are such grandees as his lordship Sir Robbin Byrd, who always finds his way around the enemy flank.

Penguins

It matters not to the penguins that the only injuries in their battles are bruised egos - they take the struggle no less seriously, and craft snowballs to hurl with fervour.

These are 15mm scale, so are approximately 8mm tall. They are sold in regiment packs, and are available for purchase now. They are released as part of our Mystri Island range of pulp adventure figures, and the bizarre tale of the sentience is the first tale of Mystri Island, which may be read here. However, we think they would be perfect for an interesting twist on straight seventeenth century battles, for HotT armies, or even Lovecraftian gaming.

Let all of us at Khurasan Miniatures extend to you our warmest regards of the holiday season, and our hopes that all battles fought by the readers in the coming year will be on the tabletop, and as bloodless as those of the Penguish Civil Wars.

Happy Holidays!
