We have two items for you today - a playing aid for Field of Glory* players, and a tent for the Late Roman and Early Byzantine armies in 15mm.

Field of Glory Cohesion Marker

The Field of Glory marker is used to indicate the cohesion level of your units on the tabletop. On the marker, three of the edges are marked DISR, FRAG and BROK - simply align the relevant edge of the marker up against any convenient edge of your unit to show its cohesion level.

Like your units, the marker is made of white metal, so it has a nice heavy feel to it, and stays put. Naturally, the player can paint it any way he prefers, and it can be flocked to blend in with the tabletop or unit basing, if the player pleases. The letters of each cohesion level can even be painted in a different colour for easier reference.

The marker comes with a separate handle for the center, to make it easier to hold it and turn it around to indicate a change in the unit's cohesion level - no need to hunt up a new marker when the unit's cohesion level changes.

And for those who like casualty markers, we have already made a Late Roman casualty figure that fits right into the middle of the cohesion marker! It's coming as soon as it hits the top of the painting queue, and if there is demand, we will make casualty markers for a whole variety of armies.

Late Roman/Early Byzantine Soldier's Tent

Next up is a 15mm tent for Late Roman and Early Byzantine periods. (And in all likelihood, the Germans and perhaps even the Western Huns would have used very similar tents.) In accord with the rapid-response nature of army capabilities, artistic evidence suggests that the Romans abandoned the heavy, large tents they had used previously when the army's advance was in a stately manner, and adopted in its stead a much lighter and simpler ridge tent. This would have been a piece of goatskin draped over a spear that was tied to two vertical poles. This is indicated in the 6th century AD Vienna Genesis manuscript (although being used by civilians), as well as a 5th century AD miniature from Ilias Ambrosiana showing soldiers using such a ridge tent.

Our model is solid white-metal and in three pieces - the tent itself, as well as two poles with small bases, to hold the spear up. The poles are slightly offset on their little bases, so that you can put them up against the side of the spear. The tent is quite small, as the actual tent would have been, so two can be fitted on a 40mm x 40mm base.

In point of fact, shaving off the spearpoint from the front of this tent model allows it to be used in virtually every 15mm gaming background imaginable.

Both items available now!
