Our theme for the current issue of Wargames Illustrated magazine (WI370, August) is America at War, and we present six articles in which wargaming with the United States Army is the focus.
We begin with To the Shores of Tripoli, in which Pete Brown tells us about America's first military intervention in North Africa, before shifting our attention to the U.S. Marines in China, in our Dragon's Choice (Boxer Rebellion) article. Next, we take a look at the men and regiments who were born outside of the U.S., but who fought in the American Civil War. The Last Battle looks at the U.S. Doughboys and gaming the final actions of WWI, and we conclude our theme coverage with As Desperate a Venture – the U.S. involvement in Operation Torch, World War Two.
All of our theme articles have purposely been written by non-Americans in an effort to provide an outside look at U.S. conflicts.
