In my view, the 28mm scale will not likely see more than 6 vehicles per side in any given game of 5x5ft table. So, the average buyer of a collection will get some infantry, two or three vehicles and odds and ends and that's it. How the game pieces look on the game table is an emerging topic like this track.

But again, we are nitty picky aint we. When a kid in a hobby store sees these guys in their pretty box (should be a bag) he isn't going to say "helmet's wrong."

He'll say "cool beans ok where's the bren carrier?" And the answer is:

Well, where is it? And the 6lb Antitank gun.

Wait a second where's the.. so on and so on.

So you see what I mean is, if we DONT GET ON BOARD with this scale and supply all the stuff on the shelf like the ex-GW guys did with Flames of War 15mm, this scale is going to have big trouble.

So, answer? "BattleBox" for $50.00 USD USD Supply a handful of plastic guys and 2 vehicles in a box; Brit/Canadian, Yanks, PanzerGrenadiers, Russkies, Japs. Box it. Sell it. Copy what GW does.

Bolt Action and all the other guys making this stuff are fighting for us. I know that 28's are a totally viable replacement for 1/72 scale and can't wait to see Russian BT7's. But these companies need investment beyond us just buying their stuff and we need to understand their process.

Oh and by the way this idea of making heavy stuff to fit the scale like Tiger tanks, JSII's, JPanther etc. is ridiculous. Unless you're going to play on a table 16 feet long, spending resources on making the heavy vehicles is pointless in this scale.

Daimler, Humber, SdKfz222, M8.. that's where the cool stuff is in WWII gaming. And kids love seeing armored cars anyway. Essentially just make "Car-World-Wars II" I guess is what I'm getting at. Urban street fighting in WW2. hehe.

Not disagreeing with you, but also not sure where you've been for the last 5 years or so… there are TONS of 1/48 vehicles and ordnance models around… Tamiya, AFV Club, Corgi, Classic Armor Diecast (RIP), etc. etc… and infantry/AT guns from Crusader, Artizan, BAM/Warlord… very tasty stuff and readily available. I know, I've bought alot of it ;-)

Cheers

The British are coming...

Our first plastic set in the Bolt Action WWII range, the German infantry, have gone down an absolute storm with you all. Now, we have something a bit special for those who are wanting to build their own Allied force of British or Canadians. This set has a huge number of options - we'll be showing off more of the three-up builds in coming weeks as we prepare for the big release.

Brit with Bren Gun

The first thing to note is the helmets are separate to the heads. As we all know, the British Tommy wasn't one for standing on ceremony and wore his battle bowler in all manner of angles - the more slovenly the better! Included in the set are the iconic Mk I tin hat and the later Mk III 'turtle' helmet - and there are netted, scrim-covered and plain versions. It also means a vast variety of combinations can be made in your army before you even consider arm and weapon options…

Brit with Sten Gun

We'll be showing more photos of our three-ups in coming weeks, culminating in what we expect to be a November release...
