It's taken a while, but TVAG is finally opening the doors of another new line of 28mm scratch-built ship and boat models by yet another Master Ship Builder, this time, Mr. Bob First.
Whereas in the past Bob has favored huge models for rather special naval wargames (such as this example, over 3' long!), I was able to convince him to try his hand at considerably smaller subjects, and very specific types at that.
Namely, here are the first generation of speedboat, coastal freighter, and even sub-chaser models of the vessels engaged in the multi-million-dollar liquor-smuggling industry during the 14 years of Prohibition.
While enormous amounts of illegally-sold liquor came from Canada into the U.S., and oceans of it distilled within the big cities, all the very best and most expensive came from Britain and Europe, and the only way it could reach America's thirsty shores was by the exploits of the Rum Runners who brought it in, case by case.
And every bottle had to run the gauntlet of local police, Prohibition Agents, and even the U.S. Coast Guard, in all weather, through dangerous waters, and even gunfire.
With these models, Pulp Fiction, Gangster, Detective, and even Horror roleplaying gamers can now take their favorite miniatures, characters, and story lines to the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico and fight it out.
But the best part is that all of these models are priced to be within the reach of virtually everyone. Built with economy in mind, these solid wooden models run from $10.00 USD to $75.00 USD, and most or all future models are expected to remain within that range.

And in case you're scratching your head about rules, Rum Runners! is in development from TVAG, and the existing Boilers And Breechloaders will provide all you need for combat, though using any system of your own will work fine for the time being, at least.
