L A M E if you ask me, but as I have said for the past ten years I can not confirm that Cuba and the PRC do not have a larger comvention.

Historicon

Historicon 2008 (24-27 July) - Historical Miniature Gaming's Biggest Summer Vacation! - will be held at the Lancaster Host Resort & Conference Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.. Where all the events you've come to enjoy at the Historical Miniature Gaming Society's "Flagship" show, along with some expanded ones, and a battery of new and innovative items as well, add up to four days of hobby fun. Enjoy "the world's largest hobby shop", offering a gigantic selection of miniatures, rules, books and anything else needed for the historical miniature gaming hobby. Historicon is the one place you have to be for Historical Miniature Gaming each summer, so make plans now!

Pre-registration is now available at historicon.org - click on the Registration link (pre-reg closes midnight July 3rd).

Convention Lodging: If you want to ensure that you have a room for Historicon 2008, from the historicon.org website, click on the Convention Lodging link and secure your room at one of the hotels where we have a Group Block for convention attendees. Rooms are limited, and some are already filled, so hurry!

Military Seminar Series: This has been expanded, and seminars will cover many topics of military history, presented by such noted speakers as and international author and military historian Rene Chartrand, Osprey author Steven Zaloga, plus Colonel David Glantz, Larry Bond, Frank Chadwick, and others (included from Armchair General magazine, Osprey Publishing, and - new this year - Casemate Publishing), to name just a few. A full list of Special Guests, their bios and seminars they will be presenting is now available on the website; click on the Special Guests link.

Battlefront Miniatures/Flames of War: The Flames of War U.S. Nationals Tournament will be at Historicon this year. There will also be a final qualifying round as well! For more info, see historicon.org.

General Gaming & Tournaments: Last but not least, the Preliminary Events List (PEL) is available on the website with over 500 games to choose from, covering virtually all periods of history and more, plus a full slate of ancient, medieval and pike & shot tournaments as well.
