I saw a few of the Eritrean askaris (the long pants) in the movie. That in itself is not definitive, but I do know they were used from separate sources. And I'm reading "The Lost Oasis" (recommended BTW) which mentions askaris stationed in the Libyan desert in the interwar years…and opposing the LRDG in 1941. Some interesting scenario possibilities.

New Ethiopian Militia

Ethiopian Militia with rifles

The latest release in the Ethiopian Army is ETH-3, Ethiopian Militia in traditional dress with rifles. These militia wear traditional Ethiopian cotton dress and carry rifles. In August, we'll have Ethiopian militia with traditional weapons, as well.

More Italians, too!

Italian regular infantry in shorts

We've added Regular Italian infantry, too.

We have infantry in shorts, a command pack, and regular infantryman running. I'll soon release a version carrying a Breda LMG.

With 10 Italian and 4 Ethiopian packs, you have a lot to choose from for conflicts in the Horn of Africa from the 1930s through World War II. The Italians are perfect for Libya and the Western Desert.
