With the 150th anniversary coming up, we decided to acknowledge this by making some special packs for the first year of the war. Some of the first releases for 2011 are shown here.
The New York Fire Zouaves are in their second uniform, the first wearing out very quickly and refusing a non-Zouave uniform, they adopted this one which they wore at Bull Run. One in a kepi, one covered in a havelock, the rest in fezzes. Some in tan gaiters; others not.
The Early Confederates again, really, for Bull Run, as most dispensed with havelocks shortly after. There will be others in shirtsleeves in various early caps. There will be Confederates in frockcoats and early Federal militia. The latter are intended to be used as the 6th Regt. Massachusetts Volunteer Militia at the Baltimore riots on April 19th, 1861, but could be used for other early militia. These go with the four codes of rioters which you may have seen some greens of on our site. The rioters can obviously be used for any of the riots during the war, and even possibly outside America.
Steve May has kindly painted a few of these up, so I thought I'd show you.
Anyway, these aren't available yet, but will be in January 2011... oh, these are all 28mm metals, although there will be box of plastic Zouaves following this release in February.
