Very nice painting there. The space demon teaser was just cruel, though.

It was difficult, but we finally chose winners in our Pelagic Paint-Off Competition!

There were two categories - best infantry unit and best vehicle. Models had to be from the armies of the Pelagic Dominate, our 15mm aquatic sci-fi empire.

OK, we admit it - it was too difficult to choose just one winner for the infantry unit competition. We narrowed it down to Robert Avery and Andres Amian, but couldn't decide which we prefer, so it was a tie for first place. Like all of the entries for infantry unit, Robert and Andres both entered units of Karkarine Landser.

Andres has created a handsome unit with excellent detailing and rich shading effects.

Robert has a wonderful selection of colours that really makes his unit come alive:

As for vehicles, well, Neil Burt of Troop of Shewe entered a model but, ever the gentleman, refused to accept any awards for it! Here's his entry anyway, a sinister-looking Man-of-War APC. Behold the power of the Undersea Empire.

Neil's withdrawal made my selection of winner for the vehicle category all the easier, for I instantly loved Daron Patton's delightful selection of colours for his Man of War MBT, which put me in the mind of the movie Tron! He apparently decided to use the vehicle's turret, without its big cannon attached, as an altogether separate vehicle, an imaginative choice indeed. (The Felid in the picture is about to have a bad day, I think!)

These are my favourites, but I loved all the submissions, without exception. Thanks to all who participated. Winners will be shipped out a Space Demon Colossus and eight Space Demon Nymphs, which are just about to be released.

Happy gaming!
