Releasing in mid-December, this Black Powder supplement covers the Flanders and Peninsular campaigns in the Napoleonic Wars (the vast bulk of the book focusing on the conflict in the Iberian Peninsula).

Warlord sculptor Wojtek has now finished the special-edition miniature that will be sent for free with any purchase of the new book directly from us at Warlord (via the webstore, over the phone, or in person at shows – you can even drop in to see us at Warlord HQ and pick yours up in person!)

Albion Ensign

Featuring an Ensign of the Foots Guards defending the King's colors, this plucky fellow will look great in your Guards units or as part of a command stand. The flag arm is separate, so it'll be easy to paint the Union flag or, if you prefer, remove it in favor of a different sets of colors.

Albion Triumphant

Written by long-time gamer and Napoleonic aficionado Adrian McWalter, this book focuses on the Flanders and Peninsular campaigns, and is now available to pre-order.

112 pages of Napoleonic army lists, background, troop stats and scenarios make this an absolute must for lovers of Black Powder, of Napoleonic gaming, or simply of gloriously produced wargaming books!

Sample pages

The start of the 18th Century saw huge changes in the way war was waged on land. Mass production of the simple reliable and cheap flintlock musket made possible large citizen armies that could overwhelm the smaller professional armies of earlier days. It was also the swan song of Emperors and Kings leading their armies in the field, men who were brought up to lead their men in person, risking death or disfigurement, but gaining personal glory. By Waterloo, countries were industrializing and the urbanization of Europe began, democratizing the nations and bringing a close to the horrors of constant war that had haunted Europe for so many years. This supplement for the Black Powder game overviews the main battles, armies and personalities of these campaigns, and includes army lists, scenarios, and special rules to enable you to refight them using the Black Powder rules.

Featured conflicts include:

Flanders Campaign (1793-95)
Roliça (1808)
Vimiero (1808)
Talavera (1809)
Granja de la Abundancia (1810)
Ciudad Espanola (1810)
Fuentes de Oñoro (1811)
Salamanca (1812)

You will need the Black Powder rulebook (below) to use Albion Triumphant.

Black Powder

As we mentioned at the top of the page, this book is the first of two focusing on Great Britain's battles in the wars – the next book will be out next year, and will focus on the climax of the wars – the 100 Days Campaign and the Battle of Waterloo…
