Mark Copplestone admits it was an Imagi-nation set in this period that was his very original source on inspiration. The possibilities are boundless.

I had my ECW army fighting in both the 17th Century and in a Fantasy setting called Archworld. (a 70's Fantasy Wargame). I've still got the Goblin/ Eskimo/ Hun alliance that fought them, but as I mentioned earlier, the ECW have been sold. My Louis XIV armies may have to march in Archworld…

We have added three new packs of Dragoons to our 1672 range.

Horse holder with horses

The 1672 range (formally Glory of the Sun from Copplestone Castings) is a line of figures from the wars of Louis XIV (1665-1680).

These three new packs aren't very exciting(!), they are just the horse holders for our three different dragoon types. Not exciting, but an important part of most army lists.

There is a dragoon in hat, one in fur-lined cap, and one in French sock-cap. The pack contains one figure holding three standing horses.

To make it perfect, you should model the reins from the horses to the figures hand (we haven't).

North Star 1672 figures are 28mm-sized, made of metal, and supplied unpainted. These painted examples are by Dave Woodward. The packs are £6.75 GBP.

The dragoons and Swiss are designed by Steve Saleh.

Swiss pikemen in French service

I have included here a photo of our Swiss pikemen in French service. They are a new set for 1672. The Musketeers are following, I'll announce them here when they are ready.

William's Dutch Blue Guard

Lastly, a unit photo of William's Dutch Blue Guard. The unit is made up from the Dutch pikemen figures, the normal command figures, and the firelock musketeers.
