Charter schools are *for profit*, which is why they don't get taxpayer money to pay for facilities. Your local hobby shop doesn't get taxpayer money to expand its facilities, either. And, to be clear, this school wants to expand its facilities so they can enroll more students – thereby increasing profit.

Also, that statement makes it sound like the school gets no money from Texas at all. In fact, Texas spends the same amount per student per year – about $8,700 USD – whether they're enrolled in public schools or charter schools.

And then there's this:

My child was expelled from school. May I enroll him at Aristoi Classical Academy?

No. Our charter states: "Students with a documented history of discipline problems from their previous campus or from the juvenile justice system will be excluded from enrolling in the West Houston Charter School."

That's not an option for a non-charter public school.
