Upgrades to The Black Army Online Storefront

Several years ago, Black Army hired a developer to upgrade its basic website into what we hoped would be a modern storefront, with a user-friendly back-end that would allow us to easily add products and new items, and to hold temporary sales. Unfortunately, it didn't work out as we'd hoped. The site was missing several key features from the outset – no way to issue coupon codes, no ability to track orders through the site, and no way to charge shipping by the weight of the item. We couldn't even have prices in cents – everything had to be rounded to the nearest dollar! Over the last couple of years, additional problems have arisen – the automatic emails that the site was supposed to send to us when an order was placed stopped coming through, and due to constant hacking attempts, we have been locked out of the back-end for over a year.

So… It Was Time for A Change

We now have a brand-new storefront that we built ourselves using Shopify. And it lets us do important things like actually track orders and inventory, add products, and have sales easily. And we can now take credit cards, in addition to PayPal!

Most importantly, this upgrade will allow us to get orders out to you more promptly, because we'll have a more reliable system to notify us when an order is made, and to allow us to keep track of outstanding orders.

In addition to the products featured on the old site, we are also offering painted versions of our new 3D-printed range, Infernal Machines.

The unpainted models are available through our Shapeways store, called Infernal Machines. The range includes 1:600 ACW ironclads, plus more WWI- and Interwar-era 28mm vehicles.
