Every year, we raise money for Save the Children through our Iron Man event, a 24-hour paintathon, after which we donate the figures we have painted for auction.
This FoW army was kindly provided by Battlefront, with tufts and sprays provided by Great Escape Games, and painted in a day by Stuart McC and Mark M at Firestorm Games in Cardiff.
It consists of:
- six Tiger I's
- five Panzer IV's
- four x 105mm gun battery
- Infantry platoon (seven bases)
- Recce platoon (seven bases plus three halftracks)
- Tank hunter team (three bases)
The painters have 50 years of experience between them and this army, despite the short amount of time it took, is painted to a good standard with all of the bases finished off in a careful and detailed manner, and with the miniatures finished with Testors Dullcote. The infantry is painted according to uniform type, so smocks were painted in tan water camo, and the vehicles were all airbrushed in three-part camo.
The force comprises about 2,400 points in Flames of War. It consists of plastic, metal and resin, and would cost about £150.00 GBP in the shops unpainted.
