To be honest I would instead argue that the Empress figures are smaller than the Gringos40.

In all seriousness, try putting both up against the best known 28mm ranges eg Perry, Front Rank, Calpe (I can only speak about Napoleonic ranges though). However much I admire some of the imagination that went into the posing and animation…..and the anatomical proportions of Paul Hicks figures…they are on the small side. Not sure many make 28mm from eyes to soles of feet

That is no harm at all of course if you stick purely to them. I agree the shame is that you cannot possibly mix the two ranges close together
