Well since we're putting our 2 pence in the bucket…

I understand and somewhat agree on your POV about the barrels and their lack of "pretty". Honestly nothing will match injection molding. However this is a compromise to the other more positive aspects related to 3D printing.

Variety and choice of scale are 2 factors that heavily counter (IMHO) the balance between lines in the models and barrels that may not be perfect.

I prefer to game in a scale and period (10/12mm Post WWII) that has a plethora of possibilities wrt vehicle and forces but less options when it comes to actual models and variants. So 3D printing and the odd metal cast AFV are my go tos.

Additionally, These are game pieces that are meant to go on a table top and play. They do break and crumble much as I wish they wouldn't. Have a number of 6mm tank Barrels that will never be straight again! <grin>

I try an buy on a budget as best as I can. So while Shapeways surcharges tend to keep me away Butler's Printed Models are a great option.

My belly button (YMMV)

Thanks

Kenny
