Very cool. I saw one (well, a fossil skeleton, anyway) at the Smithsonian and was tremendously impressed.

Megatherium (Giant Sloth)

In November 2016, Acheson Creations launched a new feature on our homepage where you, the customer, can vote on what items you would like to see us produce in the coming months. In November, the winner was a giant prehistoric sloth to be cast in a combination of pewter and resin. Today, we are pleased to announce the release of the victorious Megatherium (Giant Sloth) in our 28mm Primaeval Designs Prehistoric Animal range for $15.00 USD.

Megatherium, from the Greek mega "great" and therion "beast," was a genus of elephant-sized ground sloths endemic to South America. Often called the giant ground sloth, megatheriums were believed to have lived from the Early Pliocene through the end of the Pleistocene. The giant sloth's size was exceeded by only a few other land mammals, including mammoths and Paraceratherium.
