Actually what would be really nice would be if Mr Hicks could turn his attention to American infantry in M1941 uniforms. As Leon says there is a dearth of sculptors who can produce WWII figures that look human (and so few who can do the US helmet at all). I'm a big admirer of the Empress figures but would like to do Normandy skirmishing.

At the moment the only other option is Mr Barton's 20mm figures.

We are very pleased to announce the first of our late World War Two Germans. The first two packs contain Volksgrenadier riflemen in a mix of late winter gear – Zeltbahns, camouflaged smocks, etc…

Germans

Volksgrenadier units were formed in the Autumn of 1944 after the double loss of Army Group Center to the Soviets and the Fifth Panzer Army to the Allies in Normandy.

The name was chosen to inspire nationalist tenacity in a country and regime fighting for its survival. These units were professional military organizations armed with higher levels of automatic weapons and anti-tank weapons to offset the reduced level of manpower available.

Germans

Our figures are based upon actual photographic evidence, and show these troops as they looked in the last months of the war as they fought to defend the Fatherland.

These grizzled veterans are the perfect complement to our late American figures (not entirely by accident), and as you would expect, there will be more of these soon. A lot more!
