Wayne at WI of Wargames Illustrated writes:

British NATO Forces Ready

The Russians Are Coming, Let's Give Them a Warm Welcome…

It's 198_, the balloon's gone up, and the Cold War has turned Hot! Join either the NATO or Warsaw Pact forces, and try to stem the tide of men and machines flowing along the autobahn.

It's Soviet-era Armored and Mechanized Divisions versus British NATO Battalions and Bulldog Spirit as the Red Tide attempts to sweep into more of West Germany and beyond.

For the Warsaw Pact, it's all about pushing past the largely static NATO defenders before enough heavily armed troops are committed to prevent their onslaught, pushing hard and battling for every meter of roadway, regardless of the cost in men and machines – push on, drive hard, and take the enemy strongholds, sweep the feeble Capitalists aside!

For the NATO forces, it's about buying enough time to concentrate sufficient reserves to blunt the Soviet spearhead, even if that means sacrificing men and equipment to do so – because, if they get through here, who knows how they can be stopped?

So, turn up, pick a side, and join the fight – play for as long as you like, take a look around the rest of the show, join in with another activity for a while and see what has happened whilst you have been away, then re-join to fight once more! This is a 'drop in, drop out' participation game, where you can play for as long as you like, as are all the games in the Wargames Illustrated 'Zone' at Salute 2015.
