I seem to recall that many units (if not most) would still _likely_ have had the pre-Bardin in June, 1812. At the outset of 1813-14 I'd guess much more newly issued Bardin-style unless there were large stocks of older uniforms yet to make use of.

>>>battalions that look like…well battalions. 24 figures at least probably.<<<

I agree there. My 30mm armies of 1740-63, put together in the 70s & 80s, have 20 for single btns, 32 for double, on up to 60 for the Gardes Francaises.

It has been irritating that, in the 2000s, prices have worked against raising "big battalions". That is an undoubted attraction of the emerging plastics, especially considering the quality thus far.

FN 100 - Hard Plastic 28mm French Line Infantry 1812-1815

French on bases

Designed by Alan and Michael Perry

Available mid- to late-October

We are happy to announce that our first box of Plastic Napoleonics are ready for pre-order. The box contains 42 infantry figures in campaign clothing (half in Bardin regulation short-tailed 'habit-veste' and half in greatcoats, all in overalls), unit bases to allow you to build units easily and quickly, 2 flags and uniform guides, and 37 additional heads for converting (these include Pokalems, damaged shakos, etc.).

French frames

The figures in the box represent a 36-man battalion (4 Fusilier companies, 1 Grenadier company, 1 Voltigeur company) in the typical march-attack pose of the period, including command (1 officer, 1 standard bearer, 1 drummer) and an additional 6 Voltigeurs/Grenadiers skirmishing.

All the figures are in mid-grey, with the unit bases in sap-green plastic.

Price: £15.00 GBP
