Wargame Vault Deal of the Day: Fields of Honor Terrain Pack 1

Coincidentally, I've been readying my 1/144th scale WW2 collection to use with these rules in the near future. I've had all the Fields of Honor PDFs for many years now, and always thought they struck a nice sweet spot in their approach to gaming many/most US, British, and German tactical forces from around 1943 to the end of the war. The FOH system, although not complicated, has some nice embellishments that add flavor to the game play (a gyrostabilizer rule for US tanks to fire during their movement and not only after, and cover benefits for infantry advancing with tank support as examples), and enabled with easy/elegant mechanisms. The rules come as a full-color version, as well as in a printer-friendly version, and of course the unit "flats" and campaign terrain sets are in a graphically-rich format. Now after presenting my thinking here of why others might also think of considering these rules, the down-side comes from the upside of all the graphical niceties included with the rules and add-on sets – you'll first need to print out the unit activation cards (Command Cards), and the Fortune and Battle Cards that the rule system functions with (the F&B cards could be deleted, but the system is meant to function with the deck-pulling mechanism using the Command Cards), and if going "Full Monty", there's a lot of printing and cutting needed to render the game ready for playing.
I think the rule system (and w/o buying the flats or this terrain pack advertised here) is worth the prep time required – I even made force-specific artwork for all the various card backs to complete the graphical "package" for when I present my games, because I thought the investment of my time would be worth it. However, for others who might now consider FOH, there's this extra time and cost of printing that must be incurred up front in someones do-I-buy consideration.
Finally, although the rules and the supporting flats and terrain sets came out a decade or so ago, the product quality is competitive with today's expectations, and I think the rules themselves might even be one of those hidden gems others could be looking for.
