The Long Island Historical Miniatures Club is holding its Miniature Model Show on November 19th.
The 25th annual show will be held at the Freeport Recreation Center at 130 E Merrick Road, from 9am to 5pm. The competition includes categories for all skill levels, from Master Modelers to General to Novice categories, as well as a Juniors category. This year Long Island is adding a "Mini's" category due to popular demand, (minis can also be entered in the main figure categories).
The Long Island show prides itself in catering to the general modelers, and a very friendly atmosphere can be enjoyed by all levels of skill. You can also meet Master Modelers from the U.S. and Europe at this show (people like Mike Blank and Bill Horan have attended on a number of occasions).
In addition to the Miniature Figure and Diorama categories, there are categories for armor, aircraft, ships and sci-fi models.
It includes one of the largest vendor areas in the Northeast for a miniature model show, providing all sorts of models, supplies, toy and collectable soldiers, plastic kits and flats.
Admission is $5 USD, children free. Write the LIHMCS. P.O. Box 118, Wantagh, NY 11793 or email to lihmcs@optonline.net for further info.
