This looks very cool. And I like the background with the Martians staying off the oceans. Certainly makes sense with Mars having no big bodies of open water (aside from the canals). I'm wondering if that will also apply to flying vehicles? Mars' atmosphere is too thin for fixed wing aircraft so they might have never really learned to fly until they developed their space cylinders (which I guess are shot out of mammouth Jules Verne-style cannon launchers). So the humans might actually have air superiority (although wood and fabric biplanes won't stand up to heat rays very well).

Lots of possibilities. And I saw the miniatures at Cold Wars and they look spectacular!

The reception to All Quiet on the Martian Front has been fantastic! Thank you all so much for the great feedback.

Besides another look at some pre-production models, the big news is that we are going to do a Kickstarter. More information can be found here at a website we created just for All Quiet on the Martian Front: martianfront.com.

This week, we show off some of the pre-production work on the Martian War Machines, and a note on "technology."

You can also see all these models and more in person at Cold Wars this coming weekend in Lancaster, Pennsylvania!

Martian Drones

Before the Martians starting using human cadaver slaves as foot troops to root humans out of deep cover, they made extensive use of drones. Now, Martian Slave Driver Tripods have both types of troops at their disposal.

Martian Scout Tripod

Martian Scout Tripods are a bit faster and more nimble than the common Assault Tripod, but their heat rays and armor are less. They are used to spring ambushes and find pockets of main human opposition. Often the forces they uncover are attacked by Martian Bombardiers, either with H.E., Black Dust, or Green Mist. After the humans are suppressed, the Assault Tripods move in.

Harvester Tripod

The Martians may be mental giants, but they are biologically simple creatures with no real digestive systems. They gain nourishment directly from the blood of a semi-intelligent herbivorous biped on Mars, but those creatures have not been adapting well to earth's gravity and different atmospheric conditions. The Martians have turned to finding substitute creatures – humans. Harvester tripods hunt out and find humans and then process them into the nutrient fluids the Martians need to sustain life.

Components: Resin, metal, and plastic miniatures. The first plastic Tripod kit is already well on its way!

Technology

You can get involved now: We have finished the alpha-testing on the game play and it's now in betatesting, but we are encouraging an open discussion of the game, the miniatures, etc., so you get a chance to shape it. The playtesters are on the forum, too, and it will be interesting to see the ebb and flow as we finalize the game! You can do this on our forums.

We will be listening…

You can find more work in progress shots here, and we plan to update every week: aliendungeon.com.

More coming very soon.

Thanks!
