Nazrat did a 28 mm Arc of Fire Battle of Peleliu game a long time ago at Cold Wars or perhaps it was Historicon. I recall that the LVTs if they made past the reef were vital in the Marines success. The things sure did draw a ton of fire in those games. And yes I always thought the LVT looked ahead of its time.

LVT(4) Amtrac Section

Marine Rifle Platoon (US772)

The Marine rifle platoon bore the brunt of some of the hardest fighting and toughest living conditions of the entire war. The Marine esprit de corps was built on exhausting but comprehensive training which prepared the rifleman well for the rigors of fighting in the jungles and islands of the Pacific.

This blister pack includes a full Marine Rifle Platoon with nine Rifle teams and command team, with optional BAR gunners to upgrade your the platoon to BAR teams.

The blister pack contains enough figures to create an additional command team, so two blister packs will provide everything you need for a Marine Rifle Company HQ (with a Company Command team and a 2iC team) and two full Marine Rifle Platoons – the compulsory units needed for a Marine Rifle Company.

LVT(4) Amtrac Section

Amphibious Tractors (Amtracs) were originally designed to carry supplies ashore. Their ability to cross coral reefs and sand meant that they were quickly modified with armor and machine-guns to allow the Marines to land infantry under fire.
