These Dutch soldiers fought against Wellington in Spain, but by the time of the Battle of Waterloo, they were fighting with the British forces.

Wellington apparently commented to the Dutch commander prior to the battle:

I hope, General, that your actions today are as clever when you are fighting for me as they were in Spain when you were fighting against me.
