MAURICE: War in the Age of Gentlemen and Philosophes 1690-1790 Maurice combines tabletop miniatures rules, a campaign system that requires virtually no math or paperwork, and a roleplaying game in which the 'characters' are officers, units, and armies. You create the personalities and manage their fate from battle to battle. Maurice uses measurements in Base-Widths (BWs) so that you may use any figure, base, and table size.
Game play requires action cards (included in this package), which are used to activate forces and to modify those actions. Like other card-driven games, each card has the potential to do more than one thing, but can only ever be used for a single thing at any given time. Most – but not all – cards are available for download from the Maurice website.
