Dear Sirs,
Our new batch of new releases is devoted to the Filipino insurgents for the War of the Philippines 1896-1902.
Firearms, provided by deserters from the Native Regiments of the Spanish Army or by plunder, were scarce amongst the insurgents, so most lacked them. Instead, they used a wide array of projectile and hand-to-hand weapons, especially the traditional bolo, the Filipino machete.
This addition to the curent Filipino insurgents range includes three new codes:
Tagalog insurgents with Bolos. Six figures in civilian dress armed with bolos.
Tagalog insurgents with mixed weapons. Six figures in civilian dress armed with bamboo spears, bows, axes, and crossbows.
Lantaka. Due the lack of artillery, the Tagalog insurgents used a wide array of obsolete or improvised guns called lantakas.
These new releases can be combined with our previous codes of the Filipino range:
Tagalog insurgent Command Group. Four different figures. The pack includes one officer wearing a rayadillo pleated tunic with two head options and two different right arms, one bugler with a civilian "Chino" shirt, one NCO wearing a "Chino" shirt holding a Remington, with two different right-arm options (ordering advance and waving a Filipino conical hat, with Katipunan armband) and a second NCO wearing a Spanish coat to be equipped either with a Remington or with a flag.
Filipino infantry charging, Spanish native troopa/Tagalog insurgents. Six different figures with the standing collar coat worn in the Philippines, Remington rifles, different hats, and worn-out uniforms.
Filipino infantry skirmishing, Spanish native troops/Tagalog insurgents. Six different figures with the standing-collar coat worn in the Philippines, Remington rifles, different hats, and worn-out uniforms.
Tagalog insurgents with firearms. Six figures in civilian dress armed with varied firearms (Mausers, Remingtons and obsolete rifles).
