In the 'WI Zone' at Salute 2015, we are presenting four participation games and the inaugural showing of Hobby University U.K., based upon the HMGS original.

And we have a bit of a confession – we sorta changed one of them…

Australian Light Horse in the Middle East
Come and take charge of a unit from the famous Light Horsemen, as they carry out an assault upon a town held by Turkish forces during World War One. Participation Game, drop in and out as you wish. 28mm figures from the Wargames Emporium range, buildings and terrain by Adrian's Walls.
Cold War Gone Hot
It's the 1980's and the Cold War has turned into World War Three! Take charge of a unit of Warsaw Pact or NATO troops as the battle for one of the main autobahns into West Germany becomes a chance to turn the tide…Participation Game, drop in and out as you like. 20mm figures, vehicles and more from the Leicester Phat Cats Wargames Club.
The Battle of Evesham 1265
The last battle of the Second Barons' War and you can be a part of it! Declare for Prince Edward or Simon de Montfort and take part in this real life 'Game of Thrones'. Participation Game, drop in and out as you like. 28mm Crusader Miniatures and more, plus see another of the free figures from the Wargames Illustrated stand in action, Sir Simon de Montfort himself.
Hobby University U.K.
The ultimate 'make and take away' sessions, with donations from top manufacturer's like the Perry's, Victrix and Warlord Games. Turn up, choose one of the plastic items on offer and get taught a few 'tricks and tips' on painting and modelling. Plus, staff from Sally 4th will be joining in during the day to show you how to add detail to items from their Terra-Blocks range. We'll be talking more about this new venture for us in a future post.

And now, the change, from Haiti to the ancient city…

The Black Napoleon
Join the fight for independence on the island of Haiti…Er, well, no, not any more, although you can still get a free Toussaint figure if you buy a copy of the May pre-release magazine at Salute, we have a rather marvellous announcement to make. [E"grin"

Thanks to Osprey Games and North Star Military Figures Ltd., we are proud to present the first public showing of the new Frostgrave: Fantasy Wargames In The Frozen City rules! Players take part in skirmish level combat amidst the ruins of a city, once part of an ancient empire that has now fallen. Creating a suitable Wizard character as a leader, you then have to put together a series of supporting characters to aid you in your quest for artifacts and knowledge. These followers include apprentices, thugs, armored knights, assassins and many more. Players will be using some of the new, official metal figures soon to be available from North Star Military Figures. Examples of the upcoming plastic figures will also be available for viewing. As the realm of Magic is a key part of the game, your Wizard will be using one of the ten schools of magic, but there is also ample opportunity for some good, old-fashioned slaughter! Turn up and play from a range of detailed scenarios, which can be played out in one to two hours and try to acquire experience, additional equipment, wealth and, above all, power!

So, the WI 'Zone' at Salute 2015 – all of the above, and you get to buy copies of the early release May issue of the magazine as well!
