Okay, so we know not everyone is enamored with the bright orange paint scheme of our Type 15 Superheavy Tank, for the 9857th Heavy Grav Armored Division, "The Fireballs". Therefore we have decided to throw down the gauntlet, and challenge you to do better.
We have always planned on painting some in camouflage too, for our collection, but just haven't had the time. We would like to challenge our critics, as well as our supporters, to show us which camo scheme(s) you would utilize instead.
We will be running a painting contest for our new range of 15mm grav armor vehicles, for those customers who have already purchased our new products, and to possibly help motivate those of you considering it.
In exchange for high-resolution photos (JPEG format if you please) of our new 15mm grav armor, and your willingness to permit us to use them in an unrestricted manner: on our website, in gaming fliers/catalogs, and in other possible future publications, we will be offering some nice prizes. We also ask that you to specify which paints and colors you used, and a bit about your painting methods, e.g. brush, airbrush, wash, drybrush, etc., in case others may care to attempt to utilize your high-quality paint schemes and techniques. Of course, the painter(s), and photographers will be properly credited for their work as well, in the postings.
We haven't worked out all of the details yet, but are considering at least one prize for the top finisher in each category below, e.g. a vehicle of your choice for free, and a Platoon Pack of four vehicles of your choice for the overall contest winner.
Possible categories include:
- best combat action photo on the tabletop (hint - no dice, rulers, rulebooks, soda/beer cans, or other distracting items in the photos please). Staged photos are fine. Vehicles and infantry from other manufacturers may be included in a supporting role, but of course we prefer our vehicles to be prominent and well represented in the photos);
- best painted platoon (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor);
- best painted vehicle (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor);
- best looking clean-hulled grav vehicle (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor);
- most attractive and unique paint scheme (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor);
- people's choice for best painted vehicle(s) (must be Topgun Marketing grav armor), and a poll will be run to select the winner.
We are tentatively looking at a contest submission deadline of the middle to end of March, 2010. More details will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead.
You may enter as many categories as you wish, but we reserve the right to limit prizes to no more than one per person, in order to give everyone a chance to win a prize.
We hope you will consider entering, and eagerly look forward to your submissions.
