these are the epitome of "americana"… Pretty much ANYWHERE poor/working class types needed shelter, you could find these at the outskirts…

We even have some just outside orlando in a place called "Bithlo" link

(also due to it's location referred to as "the nightmare before christmas") link

Finger and Toe Models announces the release of the 28mm PDF model Ana Verde Rail Road Shack. The shack comes with five exterior textures, five roofs, plus an interior.

Ana Verde RR Shack Box Art

As the railroad reached California's Mojave Desert in the latter half of the 19th Century, the workers began building shacks for housing by the new train stations. The High Desert, as it is known, has truly hot summers and well-below-freezing winters, but the shacks were neither heated nor cooled.

Whitewashed exteriors brought some sense of civilization to the old dwellings, but the desert's high winds and constant dust sandblasted them back to raw lumber. Eventually, the survivors were stuccoed to provide better protection from the elements and provide at least a veneer of respectability. In the 21st Century, they still sit just beyond the tracks.

Beyond the little railroad towns, homesteaders and miners adopted the same design for their fragile existence.

Remember, every Finger and Toe model comes with smoosh assurance: if ya'll smoosh your Ana Verde Rail Road Shack, a new set waits your summons from hard drive and printer.

Ana Verde Rail Road Shack is available from rpgnow.com or wargamevault.com for $2.00 USD.
