Renedra have been hard at it, and are getting on very well with the British plastic AWI infantry - in fact, a few of the pre-production sample frames dropped through the letter box a couple of days ago. The tooling is stunning once again (you might be able spot how fine the hat brims are, for example).
The frame still needs a few small tweaks, but I couldn't resist painting a few up.
The larger command frame is still in tooling, but coming along nicely, and I've just about finished the painting guide.
As soon as we have the command frame in, we'll show you.
As you can see, Peter Dennis has done an amazing job for the front cover.
This box will contain center company men (or 'hat men') of a typical British regiment for the war. The regiment's flank companies were normally detached for combined light and grenadier battalions. The figures are represented in cut-down coats for campaigning, and come with three hat-variants: the typical cocked hat, the un-cocked hat or board brimmed hat, and the 'Saratoga cap', cut down from the cocked hat. They can be assembled either at the charge or at the trail (probably the most common drill position when operating in wooded countryside). They also wear the typical gaiter-trousers or American trousers, which became very popular in the war. Saying that, they can be painted as short gaiters and breaches, as you can see in the picture. The officers are in simple undress coats favored on campaign.
We have a release date for these, it's late March!
We'll have more metal releases up shortly.
