Long Face Games writes:

Long Face Games is pleased to announce the release of Those Who Seek Death, a fleet-action-level set of naval rules for Asian naval warfare from the 11th to 16th centuries. The aim of these rules, which draw upon techniques and concepts from LFG's Inferno and Glory rules, has been to develop a set that focuses on the Imjin War, fought between Korea and Japan in the late 16th Century – the era of Admiral Yi Sun Sin and his famous Turtle Ship – but rules, ship data, and information is provided to cover earlier wars in the region back to the 10th Century.

Those Who Seek Death

The fast-play nature of the rules allows large fleet actions with multiple squadrons a side or more to be completed in a couple of hours or less. The rules cover the main ship types involved across the period, including a number of unusual types encountered in Asian naval battles, and encompasses not only action afloat but also forts and shore-based troops.

Also released to accompany the rules are a set of 1:2400 scale STL files comprising ten types of bases, five for the Korean navies, five for the Japanese, of the following types:

Ships of the Imjin War

Japanese

  • O Ataka Bune
  • Ataka Bune (two varieties)
  • Seki Bune
  • Mekura Bune

Korean

  • Geobukseon
  • Geomseon
  • Panokseon Command
  • Panokseon (two varieties)

The models are set on 40mm bases with multiple ships per base in accordance with the recommended basing system in the rules.

Also in the pipeline is a set of similar STL files for a variety of Chinese types from the 11th to 14th centuries, including Song Dynastry paddle warships. This set will be released in the coming weeks.
