Blast Pistol is the living sci-fi skirmish game from Nordic Weasel Games.
Using simple, easy-to-understand mechanics that fit in a few pages, Blast Pistol is aimed at letting you grab figures off the shelf and get a game going in minimal time.
Typical games range from 20 to 40 figures per side, including vehicles and heroes.
What Sets Blast Pistol Apart?
First, it has a fantasy sister game, Last Era, using the same game engine modified for "large skirmish" fantasy warfare. Learn one game and you can play both.
Second, it comes with units ready to play. The core version includes ten units that can be used as is, in a points-driven pick-up game, or used as a springboard to starting up your own figures.
Third, it is a living game system.
Nordic Weasel Games always receive updates and often complete revisions, but this time, the game is built for it from the ground up.
At regular intervals, Blast Pistol will receive mini-expansions adding new units, background information, battle conditions, and game mechanics, allowing the game to grow and expand as the player base does.
The best of these options will then be folded into the core rules over time, along with any tweaks, fixes and improvements, based on player response.
We've all bought games that had problems but went years without getting fixed. Why not fix that problem at the root?
Using this model, players can pick the expansion booklets they like, while the core rules will keep getting more and more content as time goes by, making the initial purchase more of an investment.
The game contains full rules, ten ready-to-play units, an very simple experience system, and is set up to be as printer-friendly as possible.
The game is written for individually-based figures in any scale.
Please note that the initial core booklet is only twelve pages long. Pricing is a little higher than I typically assign, since it factors in future content and updates.
