The Kris & The Flame

The Kris & The Flame

The first and only rules specifically for the Pirate Wars of the South China Seas and East Indies, now in its Third Edition, is at the printers, and will be available for $25.00 USD before mid-June. The PDF edition is available now!

Still a Dependent Variant of the timeless The Sword and The Flame 20th Anniversary Edition, The Kris And The Flame (TKATF) has grown to 50 pages, most in full-color, with new rules and features to catch the spirit of the exotic peoples and mid-19th Century amphibious warfare as depicted in George MacDonald Frazier's Flashman's Lady.

A separate TKATF Graphic Supplement with key accessories will be offered for $20.00 USD, which includes the professionally printed 2.5" x 3.5" Action Deck (63 game cards) and Battle Damage Deck (52), all in full-color, provided in a resealable plastic bag. In addition are five full-color heavy cardstock sheets providing three Turning Circles, Weather Vane, Wind Strength, and 124 Game Counters (some double-sided) to be cut out for use. There will also be a set of four color, double-sided, Quick Reference Sheets to speed play.

Graphic Supplement

But buyers of TKATF need not buy the Graphic Supplement for the required accessories. Instead, all the same components will be sent for free via email as PDFs upon request. To make these all the more convenient for self-printing, everything is provided in black-and-white with the Game Decks in reduced size. Further, the necessary Ship and Unit Record Sheets for Europeans and Natives are included. These may be requested separately by owners of the Print Edition as well.

TKATF is already supported by new ranges of 3Dprinted boat models as part of the re-invented Send A Gunboat! range, and all Pirate and Royal Navy crews, etc, are available on the The Kris And The Flame page at TVAG. A full range of both European and Native 15mm Naval Guns and Ship Fittings are also available through the Send A Gunboat-Guns!

And while written for 15mm miniatures, players can easily adapt TKATF for use with 28mm figures, too.

If you've been looking for something new for your Colonial Wargames in a time and place heretofore overlooked, this will be worth your time!

All questions, as ever, are welcomed at TVAG@att.net.
