Superb stuff. The Western Desert Range is developing into the most comprehensive in 28mm! No mean feat!!

Highly recommended account of Vichy actions during WW2 – very good on Syria, Dakar, Tunisia, Madagascar.

Perry Miniatures of Perry Miniatures writes:

This month's 28mm metal releases include the first batch of French Foreign Legion. These ones are wearing the white kepi, the next will be wearing steel helmets. Other than their French webbing/pouches and weapons, they sport British clothing as worn in Libya and up to the end of the Western Desert campaign in Tunisia, when they were resupplied by the U.S.

French Foreign Legion

Also available are two new metal codes of Afrikakorps. They are all wearing long trousers gathered/strapped at the ankle, so could be used in other theaters, and later in the war. For the British, there is one new code (as suggested by a customer) of a Highland Regiment piper with a batch of Tam 'o' Shanters, designed to fit on the plastic Desert Rats. Although, like the FFL kepi, the Tam 'o' Shanters were unlikely to be worn in combat, but it certainly adds character and difference to a unit on the tabletop!

Piper and Germans

We also have two new resin models from Blitzkrieg: the SdKfk 251 and the impressive Italian self-propelled gun, the Semovente 90/53. Not many of the later were built, but all served in the Western Desert and Sicily.
