I missed this earlier and now I am very excited! I have been waiting a decade and had almost given up hope we would ever see miniatures ever again.

The Kris And The Flame

For months now, TVAG has been working to bring back these rules, 15mm figures, and ship models after years of being in limbo. And later this month, after some weeks of teasing, the first wave of releases will be here!

The ship models below are part of the new Send A Gunboat-2! range of 15mm 3Dprints, which replace and greatly expand on the original range of cardstock models. Many more 15mm models for other periods/places (The Nile, East Africa, etc.) will follow, but the first releases are in support of The Kris And The Flame (TKATF).

The rules themselves – still a dependent variant of the timeless The Sword and The Flame – are completing a thorough re-write and expansion, befitting the newly expanded selection of vessels and natives for the era of "The White Rajah," the 1840s to 1860s off the coasts of China, the Southern Philippines, and the East Indies. They will be printed in their 3rd Edition as the other ranges come on line.

Full details will follow, but for now, please see some photos of some completed ship models and figures, all produced by the indefatigable Chris Ferree:

Armed Launch

Iranun War Canoe

Kora-kora

Large Vinta

Small Vinta

Lorcha

Merchantman

Large Pirate Junk

Small Pirate Junk

Screw-Driven Gunboat

Sidewheel Gunboat

At least six more ship models will be released shortly after these first dozen or so, and that's not even mentioning the full range of 15mm figures for Royal Navy and Marines, Dyaks, Malays, and Chinese pirates, as well as figures to represent the Moros, Iranun, and Baguingui pirates, too – and still more!

We'd really like to hear reactions, ideas, and any questions, so certainly post here or contact TVAG@att.net.

Break out your copy of Flashman's Lady again, or Keppel's Expedition of The Dido, and get your blood up for the most colorful and varied pirate-bashing days of all!
