Yes, these are not "museum quality" pieces, but I don't think they are intended to be that. They are intended to be pieces for ironclad games. And they are at a good price point for what you get. $100 USD will get you more than enough to game many engagements. They fill that niche for the wargamer who would like to get stuff on the table and may not have the time to dedicate on the modeling aspect of the hobby.

Black Army Productions' New Infernal Machines Range Features 3D Modeled ACW 1:600 Scale Warships & 28mm Interwar Vehicles!

After over a year, Black Army is proud to announce a brand-new miniatures range, Infernal Machines. We now have the ability to 3D sculpt models and have begun with a large and growing collection of American Civil War Ironclads in 1:600, plus more unusual Interwar-era vehicles of the type you've come to expect from Black Army.

At present, the 3D printed Infernal Machines are available directly through Shapeways. Right now, there are 34 ships and two 28mm vehicles in the range.

For the ACW Naval range, we are producing historical ships, including some that have never before been available in 1:600 scale. We are also producing some ships that were hypothetical or experimental. For these, our designs are based on research into the plans and schematics for the ships.

Here are just a few of our new 1:600 scale ACW ships available on the Infernal Machines store on Shapeways:

U.S.S. Ozark
A Riverine monitor that saw heavy service. $10.17 USD in Black, Strong and Flexible material from Shapeways.
USS Ozark
C.S.S. New Orleans
A Floating Battery that served at New Orleans, New Madrid, and Island No. 10 $18.33 USD in Black, Strong and Flexible material from Shapeways.
CSS New Orleans
U.S.S. Roanoke
Triple-Turreted Monitor, $15.00 USD in Black, Strong and Flexible material from Shapeways.
USS Roanoke

We Are Especially Proud of This One:

The U.S.S. Red Rover
A Confederate ship captured and converted to a U.S. Navy Hospital Ship. This ship was the first of her kind, with innovations that saved thousands of lives. 75% of all profits from sales of this ship will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Price is $45 USD from Shapeways.

The Tortuga
A bizarre half-tracked armored car produced by Columbia, and possibly copied by Republican Spain during the Spanish Civil War. $36 USD in the Shapeways store.
Tortuga
The 1904-05 Austro-Daimler Austro-Hungarian Armored Car
The first turreted, modern armored car to be accepted for service by any military. Saw service in the First World War. $32 USD from the Shapeways store.

Eventually, we plan to offer the Infernal Machines range on the Black Army website, and will be offered both unpainted and painted.

In related news, we are working on yet another website upgrade, using Shopify.

The back-end of our current site has become too glitchy (and prone to attack from hackers) to use to regularly update products, blog entries, or really anything else. It also lacks features, such as coupon/discount codes, shipping calculations, and perhaps most importantly, order and inventory tracking. The new site, which will be live by Memorial Day Weekend, will allow us to process orders much more quickly and keep better track of current stock.
