Well this was inevitable given the structure of the Bolt Action game. I have enjoyed playing tourney style war games such as 40K, Warhammer Fantasy, and Warhammer Ancients. I never participated in the FOW tourneys but they appear to be run well at the HMGS conventions. War game tourneys are always going to have the problem of making things balanced. Having forces that fight each other out of period is problematic, or in the case of WW II having Blue on Blue confrontations and/or an early war force facing a later war force.

Still I wish anyone putting on a Bolt Action tournament well and hope it is successful. I suppose we will see one of these at a HMGS convention soon. Along with the above suggestions I encourage Warlord/Bolt Action to not insist on Bolt Action models only. Many of us were already war gaming this period in 28mm before the Bolt Action rules came along. Most of my current infantry forces are a mix of Artizan, Crusader, Black Tree Design, and yes Bolt Action. My 1/56 scale vehicles are Army Group North, JTFM, Company B, and I am beginning to add Bolt Action vehicles.
