28mm Wild West Buildings Released

Back to Hobby News

Slate roofs would have been extremely rare in the Wild West. Early on, split cedar shingles would have been the norm, with canvas or tarpaper over boards next most popular. Galvanized sheet iron (aka "tin") would have displaced both, with asphalt shingles coming in late.

In America, slate was used mostly for large (and pretentious) urban buildings.

School

The buildings have removable roofs and upper floors. Exterior walls are modeled as plank walls, and pitched roofs are modeled with slates, giving the buildings real texture. Recesses in the walls provide a secure location for the door and windows, and make assembly easy. The walls of the buildings are printed as one, providing a strong model and minimizing assembly. The sign-holders are recessed to accept paper signs – you can download ours or make your own.

Saloon

The models are available in 28mm only.

Everything is 3Dprinted to order.
