Wargames Factory: 1st Painted Zulus

I rather like the sculpting and the painting (the error in coloring the reverse of the shield noted).

And the painter may not be a "colonials guy" per se, but I just cruised through my rather extensive notes regarding Zulus and their shield colors and this apprears to be an unmarried male of the Ngobamakhosi regiment. They had a mix of colors, including red shields with some white upon them.

I'm not a colonial player myself (always wanted to be, and my very first foray into minis was back int he 1970s with Jack Scruby zulus and brits). But someday I will be, and I intend to game in this scale, with these minis.

And I can't imagine adding the fancy ceremonial dress to rank and file troops in battle. For leader type figure it's okay (especially if the rules give them special properties). But otherwise, no.
