Reinforcements by Post Painting Service, which is based in Bangladesh, will be closing in November next year. The business has been very successful, and continues to increase year by year. But I've decided to move on to other things. People are really nice here, but there is no gaming and not much to do. Hopefully, I will have painted all armies I may ever want by November 2012, and can pack up and leave.
From some time in November 2012, I will shut down my studio and will no longer be able to import duty-free, which is a privilege of being in an export processing zone. However, I will be able to post packages, and may still be selling ready-painted figures.
I have many new ready-painted products to announce in the next year, including Pendraken 10mm 7YW and 19th Century figures, Crusader 28mm WWII, and 15mm WWII and Modern vehicles. These are all actually painted, just waiting for me to take the photos and post them to my site.
I have started painting for the Wargames Holiday Center (UK), and have at least one new reseller of my painted miniatures in the U.K. I'm actually taking on new staff to cope with the increase in workload from new business and existing customers who want to flesh out their collections.
Beyond November 2012, I will be keeping a presence in Bangladesh because I am a member of a local club which manages three schools, a kidney hospital, and other projects (such as providing low-cost housing).
I'm planning to keep somewhere from four to six painters working for me here permanently. These are just for me (I know, I'm a wargaming megalomaniac). So there is no danger that projects that come close to the deadline will be stuck; I can finish figures at home and post them after November 2012.
I know that people around the world are facing tough times, but oddly, the economy in Bangladesh is booming because factories which are closing in China and India are moving here, for lower costs. The painters who lose their jobs will find another job the next day. From that point of view, this is also an opportune time to close.
Thanks to all of my customers! I have really enjoyed working on your projects over the last seven years.
