I've just added more Austrian infantry to our War of 1866 range.

There are three new packs - a command set, a marching set, and a set advancing/running.

The Austrian tactics were to march to battle with the musket on the left shoulder; then as the enemy came within charge range, the musket was transferred to the right hand, and the infantry advanced to contact.

Unfortunately for the Austrians, this aggressive tactic was no use against the Prussian army. The Prussians' modern rifle and firing line tactics cut the Austrians to pieces before they could ever contact them.

1866 was the last time the famous 'white coats' of the Austrians were seen on the battlefields of Europe.

Our four-figure 1866 packs cost £5.40 GBP. The figures are 28mm-sized, made of metal, and are supplied unpainted.
