Hmm, I must own up to being in the "out crowd" when it comes to ForgeWorld (I think I last ordered from them some 5 years ago, maybe more) but at that time, I only found them guilty of not answering queries about undelivered orders. Which was bad enough in itself so that I haven't bothered with them since.

The point (so there is a point to expect in this OT rambling? Hallelujah!) is however that their casting quality back then was sterling. I wonder what's gone wrong -- did they fall victim to popularity (try as they might to have their prices match the complexity of their pieces -- and then some) or what?

On the fragility issue, I do suppose quite of few of their pieces have indeed always been too much so for real gaming use. More at collector's items, as one expect by the pricing too.

Alan Bligh of Forge World writes:

Our new Ork Halftrakk model, designed by Will Hayes and Owen Branham, is a hybrid kit of the plastic Ork Trukk and resin conversion parts.

Ork Halftrakk

This model uses highly detailed resin components to replace the Trukk's engine block with a more powerful engine, and its standard wheels with some armoured front road-wheels and a heavy rear track unit.

While you can easily use the Ork Halftrakk to represent a 'Kustom' Trukk in your Ork army (and it makes a great Meganob transporter!), it will also be used in conjunction with forthcoming Forge World releases and Imperial Armour rules.

The Ork Halftrakk is available to pre-order now for release the week commencing the 27th of July.
