Dear All,
Due to recent, arbitrary, non-negotiable, and effectively punitive, changes of the Shopping Cart systems previously provided by PayPal, the "Add to Cart" buttons for every product at TVAG will no longer be recognized by them. This will occur in mid-March, and I will post the date when officially set.
PayPal's proffered "solution" allowing business to continue is a practical impossibility (even their tech who explained it to me said he'd never do it), especially in the time remaining.
I am in the earliest stages of moving The (Virtual) Armchair General to another service provider, but there appears to be no "bulk" means of doing so. Each page must be hand-recreated, and every single product manually entered into the new data base. Fourteen years of site and product creation cannot be repeated in a few weeks, and likely not for many months. More frustrating still is the large number of already completed new products about to be released.
Inconvenient enough, but a recent minor amputation makes work at the keyboard even slower for a while, and a full week has been lost already due to this and related factors.
As TVAG is my passion and livelihood, there is no option of simply shuttering the shop and going to the rocking chair. Therefore, as all this work must be dealt with, however long it takes, I want to provide fair notice to my fellow hobbyists and friends of the situation, and ask for their consideration and cooperation.
Until the domain name is formally transferred to the new service provider, TVAG can and will remain open for business. But once PayPal ceases recognition/processing/notification to customers and myself of sales attempts, I earnestly request shoppers to continue ordering any/all products available. Only please make note of the name and price of whatever is needed, then email me at my continuing address (TVAG@att.net). As ever, I will respond quickly, confirming availability, determine exact postage, answering all questions, and only then invoice the customer via PayPal for the determined amount.
Until enough of the best-selling ranges/items have been transferred, the original TVAG site will remain fully accessible. In this way, the business may continue to operate at some level of support while the Herculean Challenge of the move is being met.
TVAG will operate normally in all other respects until the date PayPal pulls the plug, and I look forward to remaining "The War Gamer's Enabler" for many great years to come.
